We believe that all people are made in the image of God (Genesis 1 verse 26) and reflect the nature of God. We recognise that we have all fallen short of the glory of God but that we are justified by the grace of God as a free gift (Romans 3 verses 23-24). We believe that God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world not to condemn the world but to save it (John 3 verses 16-17).
We believe that the mission of Jesus was to show God’s welcome of everyone into the feast of the Kingdom, especially the marginalised, which in Jesus’ day included groups like women, people of different places and traditions (like Samaritans) and people suffering from mental and physical diseases and disabilities. This is our mission too.
We believe in a church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp the breadth, height and depth of the love of Jesus Christ.
We aim to give a warm welcome to people of all genders, sexualities, races, ages and abilities. People are not only welcome to worship in our church, but also to hold positions of responsibility and leadership.
We make practical provision in our church by providing wheelchair access, good lighting, large print books, sound system and hearing loop.
We support Pride Exeter by coordinating a service to celebrate and pray for inclusion and equality in association with the Pride Event in the city.
We believe in an inclusive church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.
